The 2008 fishing season was topsy-turvy. Salmon fishing was non-existent due to the Sacramento River salmon run collapse, halibut fishing had many days of inclement weather, and tuna fishing started late, then was good one day, with weather blow outs the next. The good news was that when we did get out fishing, the tuna bite was typically OFF THE HOOK! We put fish in the boat on the troll, with Shimano Butterfly Jigs, tossing swim baits, and with live bait.
Nalu Charters brought aboard a full complement of G Loomis rods in 2008, as well as Penn International reels for the tuna troll. Keeping the Daiwa electric reels for halibut fishing as well as Daiwa Big Game spinning reels for casting to jumping tuna, and adding Shimano Trinindads and Penn Torques for tuna jigging. We confidently claim that no other sport fishing charter boat on the Oregon Coast has anything close to the quality gear that we use.

Nalu Charters will be limiting fishing charters to Halibut and Tuna.
In addition, we will have a reduced amount of available dates. We once again will be offering a "call list" for tuna and halibut.
